How to update latest firmware in kodak 6800/6850/605 printer

In this tutorial i will show you how to update kodak 6800/6850 /605 printer firmware

Kodak will be introducing a new generation of media,later in 2010,to replace the existing media for the KODAK photo printer 6800/6850 and the kodak 605 photo printer

Important note:

•  you must install the firmware before you load the new media .the printer will not work with the new media until the firmware is installed.
• Once the firmware is installed both the old and new media will work in the printer.

Check for the current firmware

• Make sure that the power of printer is on and ready appears on the printer display.
• On the operator panel of the printer , press menu until ''main firm = ''appears with the current main firmware version note that.

Installing firmware

• Make sure that:

           the 68xx/605 printer driver is installed on the computer.

           the power for the printer is on ,and  "Ready" appears on the printer display

• Insert  the cd into cd drive of the computer.
• navigate to the appropriate folder on the cd .
• double click the "Kodak photo printer 68xx firmware" folder for the 6800/6850 printer.
• double click the "Kodak 605 photo printer firmware" folder for the 605 printer.
•  Double click the download.bat file the firmware installation begins.
• " F/W download complete .Press any key to continue.." appears when the firmware installation is complete press any key on the keyboard to close window.
• Remove the cd from the cd drive 
• Verify that the firmware is installed .Follow the above instruction for "verifying the current Firmware Version ".
• In kodak 68xx printer it appears like this  " 232", "331", "432", "652", and in kodak 605 printer it appears "10.02" on the printer display.
